Snoqualmie Valley Wrestling Club
Snoqualmie Valley Wrestling Club is dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of wrestling. Our dedicated coaching staff uses many techniques to teach the fundamentals of Folk-Style, Free-Style and Greco-Roman wrestling. Coaches work with wrestlers of all levels, from beginners to advanced, to help them become some of the best athletes in their age and weight classes in the state of Washington. In addition to wrestling, the club gears its efforts to teaching these young athletes and their families the importance of respect, the value of confidence in oneself and in others, and how to handle success and failure in competition. The Wrestling Club is open to boys and girls ages 4 to 18. The SVWC is a USA sanctioned wrestling club. USA Wrestling is the parent club for the Olympic team. The SVWC also participates in the Western Washington Kids Wrestling League which is dedicated to novice wrestlers with 2 years or less of experience. We also schedule dual matches with other area wrestling clubs so wrestlers can get in extra practice matches throughout the season.
The Folk-Style season will consist of three different wrestling groups that will teach the proper skills and create the best experience for everyone involved. Novice wrestlers may enter WWKWL tournaments and all wrestlers will have the opportunity to enter into USA Tournaments on selected weekends. All participants will need to pay their own entry fee for these tournaments as they are generally $15-25 per event. Novice and Advanced wrestlers must purchase a USA wrestling card. Registration for the season includes a SVWC t-shirt. Equipment needed for participation includes wrestling shoes, headgear, and a singlet. Participation in the Advanced group will require the purchase of additional equipment. SVWC has a limited number of singlets and headgear available for the season as availability will be on a first come first serve basis. There is no previous wrestling experience required to join the Folk-Style Season.
This season consists of 60-75 minute long practice sessions twice a week. In addition, wrestlers will have the opportunity to compete in USA Tournaments on selected weekends. Participants will need to pay their own entry fee for these tournaments which are generally $10-15 per event. Equipment needed for participation includes wrestling shoes, headgear, and a singlet. SVWC has a limited number of singlets and headgear available for the season, availability will be first come first serve basis.
