The Snoqualmie Valley Wrestling Club is dedicated to teaching fundamentals through advanced wrestling skills to the youth of the Snoqualmie Valley. We work closely with the local middle and high school wrestling coaches to help ensure our young athletes are prepared to contribute our local school teams right away. Our Wrestling Club is open to boys and girls ages 5 to 18. We are a USA-Sanctioned Wrestling Club (USA Wrestling is the parent club for the USA Olympic team). The SVWC also participates in the Western Washington Kids Wrestling League which is dedicated to novice wrestlers with 2 years or less of experience. Wrestlers with more experience will be able to wrestle at the USA tournaments in which a USA Wrestling Card must be purchased separately from our club fee. We also schedule dual matches with other area wrestling clubs so wrestlers can get in extra practice matches throughout the season.
** Please note: Wrestlers are required to purchase a USA wrestling card in order to be eligible to participate in any tournament.
After a few years Si View along with The Snoqualmie Valley Wrestling Club (SVWC) are happy to bring back our preseason camp. SVWC runs an introductory camp designed to teach the basic fundamental moves along with philosophies of Wrestling. This six week camp will allow boys and girls from the ages of 5-14 the opportunity to experience the ancient sport of Wrestling without committing to a full season. This camp consists of one hour practice/training sessions that will take place twice a week. Registration includes a SVWC t-shirt.
The Folk-Style season will consist of three different wrestling groups that will teach the proper skills and create the best experience for everyone involved (Beginner, Novice, and Competitive). Beginner Wrestlers will get an introduction into the sport of wrestling and will learn the basic fundamentals of wrestling that can be used for years to come. Novice wrestlers may enter WWKWL tournaments and will have the opportunity to enter into USA Tournaments on selected weekends. Our competitive wrestlers will practice 3 times a week and focus on the higher level of wrestling. The commitment level for our competitive wrestlers is higher than our other two divisions. All participants will need to pay their own entry fee for these tournaments as they are generally $15-25 per event. Novice and Competitive wrestlers must purchase a USA wrestling card. Registration for the season includes a SVWC t-shirt. Equipment needed for participation includes wrestling shoes, headgear, and a singlet. SVWC has a limited number of singlets and headgear available for the season as availability will be on a first come first serve basis. There is no previous wrestling experience required to join the Folk-Style Season.
Free-Style Season This season consists of 60-75 minute long practice sessions twice a week. In addition, wrestlers will have the opportunity to compete in USA Tournaments on selected weekends. Participants will need to pay their own entry fee for these tournaments which are generally $10-15 per event. Equipment needed for participation includes wrestling shoes, headgear, and a singlet. SVWC has a limited number of singlets and headgear available for the season, availability will be first come first serve basis.
