Si View Metropolitan Park District

Contracts and Commercial Use

Instructor Contracts

The Mission of the Si View Metro Parks is to work in partnership with the Community to provide opportunities to enhance the quality of life through the facilitation of recreation programs and parks in Snoqualmie Valley. We offer over 2,400 classes/camps/activities that generate nearly 190,000 activity visits each year. This is only made possible because of our partnerships with exceptional community instructors.
Do you have a unique program offering that fills a community need? Consider submitting a course proposal with your qualifications and apply to become an independent contract instructor with Si View Metro Parks.

The District contracts with qualified instructors for delivery of certain recreation services to meet local community needs. Examples of types of services include health and wellness, fitness, cultural arts and educational experiences for youth and/or adults. Contracted instructors receive administrative support services from the District, such as participant registration management, marketing in the Si View Activity Guide and website, and fee collection, for a percentage of the revenue generated by the program.

Submit a course proposal

Your proposal will be reviewed by a Recreation Coordinator for the next available activity season. Experience, community need/fit, and facility availability will be determining factors as to whether your proposed class will be accepted. Recreation program schedules are planned several months in advance. Proposals for winter activities (January-April) are due in October, summer activity proposals (May-August) are due in February, and Fall proposals (September-December) are due in June. If your course is accepted, staff will work with you to review program details, our contract model, and program policies and procedures.

Commercial Use Permits

If you already have an active recreation business and wish to operate classes, tours, camps or demonstrations in Si View Metro Parks owned or operated outdoor spaces, you need a commercial use permit.

A commercial use permit allows vendors to maintain an ongoing subsidiary business within a public park. All commercial events which take place on District owned or operated properties and charge a fee to participants require a commercial use permit. A commercial use permit does not provide exclusive use of a park space. Applications are approved on annual basis and may be subject to seasonal access at certain sites. Examples of commercial uses include fee based personal training services or group fitness classes in public parks, and biking or hiking tours in District parks.
