Watercolor Workshop (Basic & Advanced Techniques)
This one-day seminar will introduce the student to the basic elements of watercolor and rarely taught advanced techniques that separate the mundane from the spectacular. Handouts will be provided, including a reading list for further study. The seminar will be broken into two sections. The first session will present an introduction to watercolor painting and basic technique. The second session will provide the student with tools to take his paintings from "Nice Watercolor." to "WOW!" Instructor: Jeff Waters – Editor, Northwest Watercolor

Photography Made Easy Workshops
![]() Beginners work with their own digital cameras to apply the principles behind stopping action, focusing, and lighting in basic classes. Sandy uses simple explanations to show students how to optimize shots on automatic settings or with a manually set aperture value, then accompanies students as they practice the techniques and methods to create wonderful looking photos that will surely impress your friends and family. Workshops are held at SnapShotSandy’s office/studio in North Bend or at the beautiful Issaquah Salmon Hatchery. Instructor: Sandy Horvath

River Awareness and Safety
Learn about river safety and features of the river. Learn what eddies, tongues, strainers and holes are. Topics covered include: river hazards, hypothermia, identifying safer places on a river, “river position”, self-rescue and universally recognized river signals. Students will practice using throw ropes and how to assist others in a river emergency without endangering oneself. Instructor is a professional Whitewater Raft Guide and Whitewater Rescue Technician. Participants will not be in the water. Minimum age 10. Participants ages 10-14 must be accompanied by an adult. Wilderness First Aid
This 19-hour outdoors course gives you the skills and confidence needed to respond to an emergency when help may be delayed. The course consists of practical exercises in an outdoor setting utilizing typical hiking supplies as tools for the most realistic experience. 2-year Wilderness First Aid certification American Red Cross is included. Course textbook and weather resistant field guide included. Participants must be at least 14 years of age and have current CPR/AED certification. Instructor: Kalli Willson
